Gianluca Pica

Gianluca Pica is an Italian accordionist, pianist, keyboardist, arranger, and composer, born in Lausanne (Switzerland) in 1973.
He began studying music at the age of six.
He completed his complementary music studies at the “A. Casella” Conservatory in L’Aquila.
He earned a Diploma and Gold Medal in Classical Accordion from the Edgard Varèse Conservatory in Paris in 1999.
He was a laureate at the Trophée Mondial de l’Accordéon (C.M.A.), Classic Senior Category, in 1997 (Andorra).
In 2010, he performed as a musician for the actor Enrico Montesano.
From 2013 to 2022, he was accordionist, keyboardist, and backing vocalist for Renzo Arbore L’Orchestra Italiana.
He has performed and continues to perform concerts worldwide, both as a soloist and with orchestral ensembles.
He serves as Vice President for Italy of the C.I.A. – Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes.
In 2004, he received the Boniface VIII International Award and the "Rome Eternal City" Award.
In 2009, he was bestowed the title of Knight Officer by the Teutonic Dynastic Order of Swabia.
He has worked on RAI television programs, composed music for films, published with major music publishers, and recorded with various record labels.
He regularly serves on juries for international competitions and official state exams.
Since 2019, he has focused on digitizing his accordion teaching method, creating educational video courses and offering streaming lessons.
He currently teaches the Modern Accordion Degree Program at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome.
